The division has been without a director for the past year. The Wall Street attorney will work to promote effective mutual fund governance and help investors with information they need.

AIG General Counsel switches to law firm
Ernest Patrikis, General Counsel of AIG, will be joining Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman as partner. He will pilot and expand the law firm's regulatory practice for financial services clients in New York. Patrikis recently guided the world's leading insurer through a $1.64-billion regulatory settlement, the largest ever made by a single company. Apart from running worldwide corporate litigation, compliance, and enforcement, Patrikis was also instrumental in negotiating the company's historic 2001 acquisition of American General Life Insurance.

Specializing in transactional work, intellectual property, and litigation, Joyce has worked with Great Lakes Chemical as Vice President and General Counsel for its Performance Chemicals division. NanoInk, Inc., is a Chicago-based company offering nanotechnology fabrication tools based on a patented system called Dip Pen Nanolithography, designed to help companies manufacture products on a molecular scale.

Matrix Bancorp announces General Counsel
Theodore J. Abariotes has been appointed to the post of General Counsel, Senior Vice President, and Secretary for Matrix Bancorp, Inc. This is his second tenure with Matrix, having served the company from 2001 to 2005 as Assistant General Counsel. Abariotes has most recently served as General Counsel and Senior Vice President for Specialized Loan Servicing, LLC, a mortgage loan servicing company. Abariotes specializes in the banking and financial sectors.
